The parcel is winging its way to the seaside hopefully it will arrive soon.
I am going to pm each person to check that they are ready to receive it.
Hee hee its arrived already! What a lovely package of treats. What can be nicer than sitting at the kitchen table in the sunshine, eating bubble and squeak, sorting through seeds.
I will forward the parcel tomorrow, all being well. The next person should know who they are... ;D
The parcel liked the seaside so much that it has decided to have another day.
Digeroo, did you get my pm with my address details?
Yes on my list I will send you a PM when it is due. Parcel just leaving Sarah
Thanks for letting me know :)
It arrived here this morning, wow what a lot to look through ! All done, packed up and ready to send out first thing tomorow :)
Clue its of to a place where sweet girls carry heavy weights!
Ok im pants at clues ;D
;D
blimey that reached you quick! it didnt go in the post till 4.30 yesterday. thats less than 24 hours. ;D
Is it too late to join the list? I managed to miss the original thread somehow. Well, I know how. I had some horrible stomach bug I couldn't get rid of, and missed the fact that there were multiple parcel threads.
I have decided to close the list at the moment. Regards all
Its on its way :D

A~ny clues as to where next?
Think its on its way north for a bit of a highland fling.
Some of the list have been away so things are getting out of order. Hopefully when it arrives the receiver will pm me.
Parcel has landed here safely - thanks so much for organising this Digeroo. It will be off on its way for a highland fling tomorrow or at latest Friday
The parcel arrived this afternoon & will be winging its' way to liquorice growing country tomorrow.
what happened to me??? I got a pm last week telling me to expect it and I've not seen hide nor hair of it! ???
Yippee. Can't wait! ;D
Reddy - looking at your profile it seems I send to you. ;)
I think Digeroo has the same people on her list as are on mine - and in the same order too ::) ::) ::) ::)
The lists are certainly similar, but the packages were quite different. :D
Anyhoo, the parcel has been posted south.
It's lovely to think of parcels of seeds chasing each other round the country. :) :) :)
Six done 13 more to go. Presume it will begin to slow up before Christmas.

I've just received it here today myself, reddyreddy. I'll get it in the post to you once I've been through it. It's a fab parcel and very worth the wait! ;D
Will get my husband to post it on tomorrow.
Thanks for getting it to me so speedily, Sholls. ;)
It has arrived and is very different from Asbeans swap which I did a few weeks ago! Will send on tomorrow! ;D
by the way it's on to see Toby's owner!
It has now apparently been posted on yesterday so is now on its way again. Please don't sit on the parcel for 4 days folks.
Any news of where its going? patiently waiting as been off all week but not fit 4 lotty.... a parcel would be so exciting!
It should be with me next but I havent had it yet, btw I'm in Coventry, West Midlands.
the parcel has been posted, and yes it's on it's way to you Julie, huge apologies of the delay it arrived to me a week later than expected and by then I was well into the schools Christmas countdown (play, hampers, collections, cake making, etc, etc.!) I put some lovely stuff in so I hope it's worth the wait! :-*
Cant wait to receive it - its the first time i have been part of a seed swap ;D
Parcel received - have some lovely seeds thanks everyone who's took part so far :)
Will be posting off tomorrow now.
It will be going to John's literary accomplice who drinks beer with a spicy lady!! ;D
glad it arrived, apologies for the delay, we're not all perfect... but I'm sure it will get all the way round long before it's time to actually sow anything!
Brilliant clue Julie. BTW OH is John ;D ;D ;D.
Parcel posted 1st class this morning :)
Has the parcel arrived yet?
No not yet. Getting a bit concerned.
Arrived today not had chance to open it yet. Will get it on its way tomorrow ABW.
What a relief, all that needless worry!!
Decided to give myself a turn. I send out a large package filled with goodies and received a very small packet containing a few interesting things.
Some of the seeds are out of date, some dipped in grease, and a few little gems.
It was repacked in one of the envelopes that I had orgininally put seed in inside a much much bigger one.
This was supposed to be a seed swap not a seed grabbing exercise. Yes I got a lot of them at 50p a packet but....
Not sure I think that there is any point in continuing. Feel a bit deflated to say the least. I feel too embarrassed to post it on.
eh?
I must say that I thought what came my way was very interesting. Lots of flowers and vegetable seeds, some I had no clue as to what they were as their latin names were written on labels and nothing else whilst others were run of the mill seeds but nevertheless seeds. I have no clue as to what envelope you are talking about but I posted it back out in a grey plastic mailing bag.
Hope that you'll reconsider sending parcel back out.
Julie
Merry Christmas All
Oh no! I think i was next!!
Please reconsider sending it on. A smaller package is miles better than no package :)

Do you want me to send the stuff I was going to add to you directly to help with the "restock"? I can probably post it out on Friday (works xmas do tonight, can't imagine I'll remember it either when I get home tonight or tomorrow morning :D)..... there's a fiar old bit of stuff there including exoticish tomatoes and whacky beans, giant pumpkins etc....
chrisc
d**n Digeroo - was looking forward to sharing a few and getting a few surprises back.
Rules seem pretty sensible to me..
Sounds as though some miserable so-and-so has cheated!

Sorry to hear things have gone askew >:( I know how much I enjoy receiving swap parcels.
Its on its way again for a touch of education?
The next two people have agreed to give it a bit of a boost, and I put a few extras in myself.
Sorry about the rules but....
For those wishing to join the postage cost is currently about £2 a little more if you go for first class and a little less for second. Will those on the list please PM me that they are still on board.
There are 5 more on the list so at the current rate that will take about a month but hopefully the post will be back on form and it will be about the middle of jan, if anyone else wants to give it a whirl.
It was quite a good mix when it arrived (and left me) although smaller than Asbeans, I put in the same amout as I took out, I did notice quite a few out of date in this and in Asbeans parcel when it reached me. Shame, as it's a great way of trying new things, especially if you only take out a few seeds of what you are interested in and leave the rest for someone else to try. Rules are definately worth stating at the beginning of future swaps.

Out of date might only be in the minds of the seed sellers... things like tomatoes, squashes, most onions and cabbages should be good for about 5 years with at least 50% viability....
the stuff I plan on putting in is all dated 2010 or 2011 apart from the self-saved stuff.....
chrisc
May I join, I have a lot of spare seeds that i would like to swap. I promise that they will be in date and if not in the original packs they will be in seed packs that i have downloaded and made.
I would like to say a big thank you for those people who have volunteered to give it a bit of a boost on the way past.

It's not likely to get on its way again until Tuesday.... unfortunately I'm in the office tomorrow and I know we're not due a postal collection again until Tuesday...
chrisc
Chris that is a mighty seed selection boost ;D

The great reef but not the yankee hospital department, with mixed pencil inner is stolen away, and yet without the editor.
chrisc
I am glad that you decided to give Mrs Lewis's a try. I really fell for this one, lovely looking plants, great taste and huge crop. Hope it does as well for you.
Oops... just realised I misread a packet, that should only be 25 yin-yang beans.... IIRC there was one whole pack ....
chrisc
Chrisscross, you must have a massive plot, how much land do you have and i am utterly envious.
;D
As I am next on the list ( i think) just wanted to say a massive thanks to Digeroo for organising and for chriscross1966 for bulking it up (and anyone else who has done so).
I bought a few extra packs and thought I was doing well but that list is fantastic..
Cheers y'all. ;D
I've got about 300sq metres (including the bit I'm taking on this year), but I'm a bit of a dillettant really... being single I don't need lots of anything so tend to grow one 14-foot row (long thin plot) of anything that I'm interested in and also as a ong-time vegetarian (24 of my 43 years) I appreciate the opportunity to try different things.... if I don't like it then, well, it was only one 14-foot row.....
I'm a bit of a nut about onions though, and I like squash so they do tend to get a lot of space but it's been nice having my own spuds even though they're nearly all gone now and next year the plan is to make rather better use of the space and not play it quite so fast and loose with the timing of certain things.... leeks and brassicas especially....
chrisc
Any news of the parcel?
is it to later for me to join in,there sounds like some good stuff in the swap and i have some seeds i could add to it, happy to pay the p+p
hope i can thanks.
Having talked to our postroom controller I've discovered that we've only had one collection since Christmas so it looks like Oxford's postal serviceis pretty spannered at the moment.... we can fret a bit less,....

The parcel left me last week week Robert - on it's way to Mick but you'd have to ask Digeroo where you are on the list. Worth the wait IMHO!!
OK, parcel hasnt arrived yet...... though I have only had one postal delivery in the last ten days....
Now it's thawing I should soon be able to get an idea of whether the oca and catawissa onions I hope to put in are still alive!
Hi All,
Parcel arrived today - great collection of seeds, havent taken much but have added a few new ones to it.....will be on its way to next recipient midweek - I cant get to post office before then.
To all those who like to guess where its going - home of the fishmarket
Hi all, parcel is on its way to the next destination..........
Ok parcel landed today, back on it's way on monday..........are we still doing cryptic clues? If so it's heading to bob the beekeeper :)
What's happened to Digeroo? She hasn't been online since the 10th, and normally posts several times a day. I do hope she's OK.
:-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
She may be on holiday. I think she mentioned it on the SAD thread.
The parcel arrived this morning. I'll get to the allotment as soon as I can (probably tomorrow) and get some of the catawissa onions. Someone's already added lots of oca, but if it runs short you can PM me and I'll send some on to the next person on the list.
Meanwhile my computer monitor's died on me, and I've only got the library computer that I can acess so I may be a bit slow responding to anything on the site.
Just to let you know that, on top of everything else, the DSS have LOST my sicknote! It's going to take me another week to get any cash out of them, and meanwhile there may be delays getting to parcel back in the post. Please accept my apologies.
Sorry folks I have been for my January sun fix. It was £10 for half an hour on the internet so I have been having withdrawl symptoms. It is only £3 at Gatwick. Not sure what the hotel are trying to do, no one is going to pay that amount.
Most importantly, did you have a lovely time, have you come back refreshed and rejuevenated ready to re-enter the rat race??? :)
My funds are sorted (to my vast relief as you can imagine) and it'll be on its way on Monday. Once again I apologise for the delay.
So glad for you Robert. It's a pain when things that like that happen. I don't know how they expect people to manage ::).
Are you going to give us a clue as to where it is going to next ;)

The next person should receive a pm to say it is on its way. Depending on its arrival at the next person it should be with you soon.
It's on its way. With very limited internet access at the moment I don't have a decent clue in mind, but it's going to Norvik I've added Catawissa onions, but forgot to put the label in the bag! Grow them on for two years, and use as green onions. The bulbils can be used green, or left to ripen and planted. They're quite strong.
Hooray its on its way to sunny Norfolk, the snow and ice has melted (from friday) so the postie can get up the hill. Ive got days off this week as well , have finished icing the grandsons cakes and off to the lotty..... and so cant wait to browse and pass on. Thanks to everyone involved. :)
its arrived!! only thing is, there appears not to be an address list with labels, has this got lost en route?
I think I received a -pm some time back with the next person, will check.
Rather than put in the whole list I have pm the next address to each person. Do you need it resent Sorry have not provided labels I am no as orgainised as some.
The seed swap parcel has only got two or three more places to go is there anyone else who would like to be added?
Please note this is a swap please read my rather bossy rules sorry about these.

hiya
could i please be added on pm you my details now
Hi Digeroo
I am new to this site, but would love take part. I will PM you my address
Claire x
If it's going around again, I'm interested!
Digeroo, im not sure how to pm the next person as its hidden in the profile, could you let them know please? many thanks, actiongran.
parcel on its way to a gardening peg!
this is gonna make me late but I have to say I was disappointed with the parcel. It was dirty, messy lots of loose soil and seeds all over the place when I emptyied it out, with packets opened and not closed again. what a shame there was not much on offer and.... it cost the sender £4.45 . Could we please keep it to SEEDS to reduce the postage. I have added some and cleaned up bought a nice new jiffy envelope and its not been a great swap like some I have taken part in on here.
Rant over, thanks for listening!!
It was invigourated recently by myself and Crisscross so yet again the idea of a swap seems to be a bit of an issue. I will have to have a big think of a new system before next year. It started out with loads of different seeds.
Anyone got any ideas.
What has happened, with digeroos top up and Chrisscrosses, i was really looking forward to something. I thought that the idea was that we put in more than we take out, there has not been many swaps since Chris so i am quite shocked that the parcel was so bad for actiongran, i will try my best to top it up as much as i can when it gets to me, someone must have a bit of a conscience somewhere, well you have to live with yourself for spoiling it for the rest.
sorry for being so harsh but dont you hate it when the few spoil it for the many :o >:(
Ok i don't know where this went wrong but there where loads of good seeds in when it arrived here. Ok so there where some loose seeds but i surpose that always happens in the post, it doesn't take long to tidy up. If the postage has gone up it it must still have a good stock of seeds, i think i paid £3.25 in postage so many swaps ago.
I agree - dont know where the varity has gone - i added several new packets and took very little out! I also repackaged the swap in a new jiffy, as the old one was getting in a bit of a sorry state. If is gonig to come round again add me to the list
Mick
I think both the oca and the Catawissa I added should be justified because of the number of people asking for them; I'm always sending out the latter. I repacked some seeds from the bottom when I had it but it sounds as though they must have fallen out again, as I didn't have spare ziplock bags. I think it's OK to include part-used seed packets, but it would be better to put each one inside a ziplock bag or something similar. They were well packed when they left me, but it was an old Jiffy bag and they won't last forever.
I must admit, i include part used seed packets or i make my own packets, problem is they can be a nightmare for the next person as i sellotape them up like fort knox, does not look pretty but does the job. :)
I remember those; they're good packets but if you only want to take some and send the rest on you'd have to make a new packet unless you snipped the top really neatly, then taped it again. Most people probably wouldn't bother. Another time, I'll try to ensure that I've got loads of ziplock bags; they're the best I've come across for short term seed storage. I'm not so sure about long-term as they don't breathe.
I think i'm next or 2nd in line, I have a load of zip lock bags that i have been saving for the seed swap so I can tidy up the packet when i get it.
I'm looking forward to it
regards
James
Actiongran, i am shocked, i received the seed parcel and although all of what digeroo and chris had put in there was gone, i had expected that (coz we all like different stuff), i found the parcel to be a decent size, robert the catawissa onions and oca are lovely, i have taken an oca and 1 bunch of catawissa, i so hope that you let me know what to do and when to plant. The rest of the seeds were mainly standard stuff which is good as i like to grow standard stuff and maybe have a few different varieties.
I apologise if i reacted to actiongrans rant, i do think that the parcel is a good selection and i have added in more than i have taken out, i must say, actiongran you must have emptied out a lot of soil as the parcel is back to being approx 2.50 cost, and maybe that is what upset you.
Digeroo, thank you for arranging this seed swap, and i do hope it goes round again, we do appreciate what you have done.
I will be completing my seed additions tonight and as the postoffice in my village is closed Thurs i will get it in the post Friday.
Agin thankyou guys for all your swaps to the parcel and i hope that the next recipient enjoys it as much as i do.
regards
Kx ;D
Plant the Catawissa straight away, it's really hardy. Put it in about nine inches apart, and give it two years to reach full size. I honestly don't remember any soil!
ok, i am not very good at the cryptic clues so as per my way of going to the lowest common denominator the parcel is on its way to the land of white stilletos and burberry baseball caps and Faces nightclub...............talk about bad stereotypes, sorry cant thing of anything clever.

To tell you the truth I am getting a bit tired of keeping track of it. I sort of feel a responsibility for it I think if it is going to go round again I will have to find a volunteer to take it on.
Only a couple of people have said they want to have it again.
I've been having a sort out, so I could add some stuff and organise another list if other people are interested.
Hi James, do you have the parcel as we have not heard from you?
Robert, i am definately interested if you arrange for it to go around again
Kx
I hope it hasn't got lost in the post! If there's no demand for another parcel now, I could sit on it till the autumn and send it round then. Most of the contents will be OK for another year, and by then I should have masses of seed to add.
I think that is a good idea Robert, and then you start all over again in the autumn. I also hope it has not got lost in the post James has not logged on to say he has not received it.
By the way, i have planted the catawissa onions as you said, now, is it right they will take 2 years to grow, i have heard that but am not sure, i cannot find growing instructions for them.
Kx
They'll take two years to reach full size. Meanwhile, they've been dry all winter and may need a bit of mollycoddling for a while.
i hope it hasnt got lost ive not even seen it yet >:(

hi all
sorry i was sent away on business on moday morning, was given 2 hrs notice, just got home. I have a while you are out card here which i assume is for the parcel,
will shoot over the post office in the morning, if it is it i will get it in the post monday morning.
am a bit annoyed as the wireless service in the hotel wouldn't connect to my works laptop.
Regards
james
No problems I think we had started to think another parcel had disappeared. Take your time, everyone else has!!!
hi all
picked it up yesterday, it certainly exceeded my expectations after reading the previous comments,
I have added some enorma beans from mr fothergills, won't be needing all mine this year,
and some kohl rabbi(?), and a few extra packets of seeds i had sitting around,
will be posting parcel 1st thing in the morning 1st class so should arrive at the next destination tuesday or wednesday.
next location: only english town with the prefix county, a practise given by the gpo to distinguish it from another town of the same name, has its roots in mining, and developed the forerunner to the trade unions.
james
hi if it is going around again then i would be interested, as after i have used some of my other seeds i may have some more spare
James
When I had it, it was the best parcel I've had yet. I'm not sure what all the fuss was about.
I agree, i thought that the parcel was great and as i stated before, i truly do not know what actiongran was complaining about, how she put it and what i received was completely different. god knows what type of parcels she has had before.

I wish some of you people would have some respect and allow some of us to state an opinion without sooooo much criticism in return. I passed on my comments with respect and stated the facts....maybe it was thanks to all my effort that you enjoyed the parcel so much, I hope so.
The parcel has two more people to go, and then back to me. So this is the final call if anyone else would like to be added.
has the parcel turned up??
i would like to be added again if possible

james
Can I be added too? Not sure about the rules so if someone could pm me and let me know. I have plenty of seeds to add too, everytime I go shopping I seem to aquire a packet or two :P I've no idea how that happens lol
I would love to go round again if there are enough people. i think i have already put my name down, but not sure so i am requesting again.
kind regards

Welcome to the world of big cat training :)..... my overwintered bul;lbs are now setting off again and I really need to think about moving them cos
