Title: Lottery grants for allotments
Post by: HAA on November 02, 2009, 14:21:17
I'm just filling out the form for Awards 4 All to get money to set up our new allotment.

Has anyone been successful with them getting grants for allotments? If yes, could  you could send me via email (pete at comleys.com) a copy of yours, so i can see how to fill it out 'successfully'  :)

Many thanks and kind regards,

Pete Comley
Chairman
Hook Allotments Association

our previous sec got his application declined cos he used a colleague as the referee, think they want it to be a council member or such like.it does say this in the guidelines. ive not tried myself, but have been sucessful with funding from other sources. good luck!

yes, they don't like ex allotment holders, we've used our local councillor as an independent referee, must not be retired and must know about your project and be interested  ;D

I would love to apply for a grant but as our Allotment is under constant threat of being built on it would not be worth it :(

Many areas have a community funding development officer at their local CVS (Community Voluntary Services) who will happily give you assistance with a grant/funding applications.

Did a simple search on the internet : http://www.voluntaryservices.com/pages/funding_search.aspx?params=Funding

Check out "grass roots grants"  ;)

Hope that helps

The guidelines that come with the latest batch of grants are far more detailed than last time round. I think if you go through them carefully they will tell you what they want to know.

At least - I hope so! That's my job for this afternoon, ready for this Sunday's Committee meeting! We shall see!!
