Also im thinking of getting a book so i can identify different type of mushrooms i would find. any recommendations ?
As well as a VERY good book you need a friend who is very knowledgeable on fungi, there are too many wild mushrooms that look very similar, some edible, some deadly or very toxic.
Its really not worth taking the chance. Have a google for mushroom foraging courses in your area, there are lots going on now all over the country. Its much safer.....honestly ;)

This is supposed to be one of the best books on the subject http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mushrooms-Other-Britain-Europe-original/dp/0330264419/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1256773766&sr=1-2
That looks like a fairy ring to me, in which case, whether they're edible or not, they're not mushrooms.
