We gave a cheque for £1,000 to the County Air Ambulance today.

The money was raised at our Summer Fayre.
Well done.

Do I spot ScarecrowKev's brother?
Thanks :)
Yes, we thought Kev had done enough recently so we asked his brother to present the cheque. (He hasn't got Kev's charisma though, has he?)
Well done again Betty.
I find that increadible. How do you raise the money?

We raised over £2,000 at our Summer Fayre (half each to Macmillan and Air Ambulance)
I think that because we do it for charity people like to get involved. We have a separate planning committee for the SF, with monthly meetings before the big day.
I put a list of where the money came from here:-

Well done Squash, you all ought to be very proud of yourselves.
I'm staggered. Are all the photos on your site? - you have some very useful space to do hold the fayre in. How do you manage to get such good support? It's obviously organised very well. Is the pavilion on site too? Gives me lots to think about.
Squash64 that's brilliant, well done! :)

Yes, all the photos were taken on the site. We are very lucky in that we have lots of grassed areas and plenty of space. The pavilion is on site, at the end of the main drive. There is a covered seating area outside it.
I think we are a very friendly site and it isn't too difficult to get people involved with things. This year was our third Summer Fayre and the local people seemed to be looking forward to it. We had people emailing and asking when it would be. The local press are very good at including articles about us, and we put lots of posters up locally.
What is your site like? Do you do any fund-raising?
The charities they give to are very popular with the visitors. Everytime you put your hand in your pocket you know that all of the money is going to them.

That's right Shirl.
We tried to choose charities which would be supported by the majority of people. We get people who tell us that they were helped by the Air Ambulance, or they know someone who was. There are many cancer charities so we just had to choose one of them and Macmillan is very popular.
We don't charge to enter, but the fact that £255 was taken in donations alone at the gate says it all.
Congratulations if there is ever a worthwhile cause to raise money for it is the Air Ambulance, welldone once again, :)

I organised our site's first ever get-together this year. It wasn't well supported but it was a start. I wouldn't say my site was particularly friendly.
very well done Betty, very worthy cause ,btw he looks like the man of my dreams ;D :-[ ;)/ shades x
