Title: Aubergines
Post by: telboy on October 17, 2009, 20:32:57
Hi All,
Time to clear the greenhouse out & I find a fair few red peppers & aubergines still on the potted plants.
The 'aubs' have a stripey colour now. Can I improve to the glossy colour one is used to?
My chilli peppers are brilliant. After freezing, I shan't need to grow any plants for 3-4 years I reckon.

What variety are the aubs telboy?  Some are meant to stay stripey, unlike Black Beauty which is dark purple and glossy. I've been growing Melanzana Violette Lunga, sown late but about ready for the pot.

Ninny

PS. Chinese Ancestors were successful this year too, small long fruits, ranging from stripey to plain green.

I've never known stripey ones "colour-up" on ripening...  :-X

Thanks for your replies. The variety is 'Black Beauty' Ninny, the earlier fruits were a dark glossy purple.
