Title: Growing pinto beans
Post by: Julie Bean on October 16, 2009, 12:08:22
Does any know if the beans that you buy on the supermarket, will germinate? I want to grow beans to dry, and store, but dont want to pay top prices for seed, from the garden centre.

:D your only problem should be whether they're dwarf or climbing. . I think commercial beans are mostly dwarf of straggly to make it easier to harvest them by machine. Unbelievably, that piece of helpful advice came from The Great Gardener himself last year  :o
