mine is planting potatoes, digging them up is no problem, eating them..well!!
Moving all our stuff off one site to another. We moved house 2 years ago and now have got on a site near to us so everything is on the move!
Trying to beat the weeds....... 8) 8) 8)
Turning our new plot from a tractor graveyard to a vegetable haven before spring.
and digging out the masses of bamble roots which are bigger than my head!
Digging. Some of my 'soil' is still rock solid and some areas are only a few inches deep before it is like concrete.
I only have a small percentage left which has not been dug. And then there is packing up the bean/pea/sweet pea sticks.

Me too, and learning a bit of patience, I already have weeds growing round my onions and garlic, should have dug it over and then waited for the new weeds to show their heads before I planted.
Getting hubby to sow just one seed!
He'll help me by clearing non-compostable stuff away, he'll put up the bean poles, pick the beans, and take them down, dig potatoes, spread manure, water and is my left hand so not really complaining, but I'd just love him to be in at the start. :)
Ninny
Not buying too many seeds 8)

Getting enough manure\organic material to the plot. I am on a railway cutting on deep London Clay - and the clay wants to stay that way regardless of how much manure I add!!

Just lately getting up of a morning just to get to me plot don't seem to be able to drag me sen out a bed,but apart from that thinning out i allways put it off till its too late.

Same here, though I'm not much clay, I'm very dry crumble. On top of that I'm in no way built for hod carrying. Tore a muscle last autumn lugging bagged manure and couldn't move my arm for 3 weeks.
Never seems to be enough to make it moist.

Try jet spraying them in a bucket.
Planning and recording. Always mean to, never do. Plan in my head, then something grabs my attention - oooh yes, must try this, surely can squeeze a bit of that in there - and the plan has gone. Might help if I stopped reading this forum ::) ;D
Anything to do with potatoes, moving compost and moving manure ...these are the moments i wish i was a man!
Digging the spuds up properly so as not to leave any volunteer's, anyone managed that yet. ;D ;D ;D

getting up in a morning
The OH plants the potatoes and brings me breakfast in bed so right now can't think of a hardest task horticulturally but wait for the weekend when I try to keep two grandchildren happy 1 male 13, 1 female 8 =disaster protective clothing compulsorily
Putting the canes away. I always managed to hurt my hands. Hate doing it.

Removing carpet from the plot that has brambles and weeds growing through it with 3" soil on top >:(
Neil
1. Definitely the same as Nilly (when I got my plot)
2. lugging everything up to the plot (manure, wood etc)
3. then managing the dreaded couch grass
4. Managing my seed addiction
5. persuading OH to help me build stuff - compost bin, cold frames and shed
6. Turning over new areas for the 1st time - boy that clay is heavy and sticky!
I think I'll stop there ::) ;D
