Well I think you spell it Gaura........not too sure what the 'local' name is. Its problem being.......it grows fine but the new growth sprouts from the side and it grows outwards instead of up.
Can I plant it deeper, or should I plant it more on the side? A neighbour has one and it grows straight and is lovely........compared to my distorted one. :-\
Dunno, I've raised some from seed and they are just about to flower... mine, "The Bride" is fairly lax... perhaps there are different cultivars... :-\
Thanks Saddad, guess its just a case of staking earlier then ;)
Yes, I didn't notice mine until it was too late this year- it's flowering beautifully now but is a bit spoilt by the stakes attempting to keep it upright! One of my favourite plants. They were flowering everywhere in France in August, nice to have them in flower here now.
We have one on the lot and its spreading. Still looks nice though
They are very pretty, I might try growing something strong around it instead of staking. They are very airy and I can imagine the stakes would dominate......cheers girls for your input.
It means a lot since mum gave it to me ;)
