I had meant to post a picture before of this.
for the past couple of years whether the tomatoes were bought from local farmers
or my own grown as this is.
The inside of the the tomato under the stem appears to have these little bits of hard sharp bits of stem sight into the fruits. feels like splinters, some are up to 1/2 inch long. no mater what kind of tomato, or as I said where they come from still the same, nasty. any idea's.  Help..... qahtan

Grow another variety. I've never seen that before but it's not what you'd want in a tome.

I've never seen this. Maybe ask on Tomatoville (http://tomatoville.com/index.php), there are growers on there, that are local to you, who might know.

Not nice! I guess that it also means that you have to cut them open to check inside and can't take the chance of biting into one.  I presume that they look and taste okay?

The rest of the tomato is fine, I have this little gizmo thing that will remove the stem end along with nasty, some tomes it takes a couple of digs but no way could the fruit be left as is to eat. qahtan

i have experienced that with shop bought tomatoes but not homegrown thus far, i'm afraid i don't know what causes it but like you said the tomatoe itself tasted fine :-\
