I have a huge shrub growing behind my allotment shed. (I do not know the name of it as yet).
Towards the main thick stems of the shurb seems to be what I would describe as a small hosta. It is green foliage with yellow-ish spots on the leaves. It is not lungwort (pulmonaria).
Could a hosta survive in complete, dense shade?
If so, can you move it now?
Move it, but put is somewhere it'll get a reasonable amount of shade. A hot summer will finish off hostas in full sun, unless it's a damp spot.
Can I plant some hostas just now? I bought two at the Ayr Flower Show in August, havent got around to planting yet - dont want to risk them over the winter in pots. Ditto with an azalea and a mini rhodedendron?
