Title: asparagus seedlings

silly question but is it ok to plant asparagus seedlings at the  moment ?is it ok to even plant them from seedlings or do i need crowns ,i have no idea all info gratefully received ....n8r :)

You could but you'd probably be better off putting them in bigger pots for the winter and using the time to very thoroughly dig the bed they'll be going in to remove all traces of weedroots....then plant them out when they start showing in the spring... that's my plan anyway (and I've got about 70 of the darned things).....

i had a load of seedlings few years ago dottted round the lotty.all i did was replant em in  a row and  put some manure round em and let em get on with it .and they doing ok.should get 1st pickings next year.

 :) I planted some Black asparagus seedlings last week, gave a really good water, as we have had no rain for weeks and mulched with compost / shades x

thanks all for advice will give the potting up for spring a go and leave in the greenhouse cheers ..n8r ;D

Thry don't need to be cluttering up your GH unless you've got tons of space... the roots are hardy.... I'll be leaving mine outside, otherwise apart from the hassle of hardening off I wouldn't have enough space for the domestic authorities flowers and all of the seeds I want to get started in the propagators....
