Title: ripening grapes
Post by: manicscousers on September 30, 2009, 17:16:48
we have 2 large bunches of grapes that have started to turn but are still sour (black hamburg)
I've seen the victorian garden where they put ripe grapes in bottles of water to keep them fresh..do they keep ripening or should we wait a bit longer and hope they ripen more ?

I've seen that programme I thought they were ripe but kept them in peak condition for longer - but cannot swear to that.

Do you mean that they put the ends of the stalk of the bunch of grapes in water?
I have eaten some of my bunches of Black Hambourg, but I usually leave the others on the vine to continue ripening in October.
