Title: Autumnwatch
Post by: Flighty on September 23, 2009, 16:27:24
Does anyone here watch Autumnwatch?

It starts on Friday 2nd October on BBC2 at 9.00pm with a new format
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/autumnwatch/2009/09/a_new_shape_for_autumnwatch_wa.html

There's an excellent website
http://www.bbc.co.uk/autumnwatch/

And if anyone uses the messageboard I'm LawnLounger!

GRACELAND thanks!  Flighty was already taken and LawnLounger seemed more appropriate than SofaFlyer, which I use elsewhere!  8)

Yes thanks for that Flighty......and I'm Exkiwi on BBC!

But your name is more original...it's so annoying when your name is taken already!!!!

Even more annoying when you have taken it yourself earlier and forgotten your password completely!

Thank you, Flighty.  OH and I were only talking the other day about when Autumnwatch would be starting.  That's the day we go on holiday (Friday is a funny start date?) but as we're only going as far as the IoW, I might be able to sneak it in  ;D

Edit:  Just read the information, now I see it's once a week on Fridays only!

Yup, Friday eve and repeated on Saturday is a format that will suit me well.

I find 2 or 3 weeks intensive watching a bit too much, dont like to miss any, but also have other things to do.

The idea of Friday evening to promote a family activity over the weekend is also a good one.

The repeat is also good as I'm normally rat-arsed keeping the cold at bay on a Friday night.

What do you mean ONLY! Don't you realise you are going to the seat of all civilisation, cause this is where it all started..

Don't worry about autumn watch it will still be summer here, I am also going away on the 2nd. All the way up to the frozen wasteland of the north. Ingleton, I will leave in the summertime and end up in the bleak midwinter 6 hours later.

that means i'm relegated to watching it on iplayer with my daughter then :-\ as the hubby commandeers the telly on friday nights and my daughter has to be in bed by 21.30 on friday as she still has to wake early saturday to go to drama classes.

ah well better than nought.

I meant 'only' as in we're not going abroad so I'll still be able to watch it, lol.  I can't wait, I love the IoW.  Shame you're away that week too, I was going to suggest a bevvy or two  ;D ;D

Thifasmom, it's going to be repeated on Saturday afternoons :)

IoW disease started there, but I dunno about civilisation. I went there when I was about six, and told the class I'd been abroad.

Well, I'm disappointed with the 'new format'.  What happened to watching the wildlife?  It was all chat and props.  Gone the same way as GW.

I agree Ceres, too many people and not enough wildlife. :(

I watched it last night and was somewhat disappointed! I agree with Ceres and Tulipa.
