Title: Conference pears

our pears have been very prolific this year(chicken pellets in spring?)
anyway, we've not had many to store usually..this year we have loads, when do they get picked for storage, a couple have fallen off, any suggestions welcome  ;D

Anytime now... I prefer to process them.. eg cooked in wine/chutney etc.. as they can go off in store..  :)

we used to poach our pears in red wine .  Bit of a silk purse from a sow's ear, as they weren't very good. Very old tree

do they juice well?
we've done loads of william pears in wine or cider so we're looking for something else..got so many chutneys it'll take us and our family all year to eat them  ;D
