Title: Best place to buy grass seed?
Post by: RobinOfTheHood on September 22, 2009, 10:06:29
Anybody used Wilkos lawn seed? It's the cheapest I've found.

Or is there a better supplier?

I'll watch this space because i'm after some. Some on Ebay that Canada stuff which looks cheap. Got some from Morrisons last year for bare patches on lawn at home, absolute rubbish.

I reseeded our front lawn with seed from Wilks in 2006 after it died in the drought. No problems at all

I used Tesco seed on some very difficult areas in April. Excellent results.

I ALWAYS buy my grass seed from Wilkos. I prefer the rapid germination stuff,

The garden centre/DIY store seed is good, but its about three times the price of Wilko.

I found the supermarket stuff had poor germination rates. I guess they don't store the stuff correctly or it gets very old.

Wilkos it is/was. I'll post results later, probably.  :)

I would recommend the canadian grass, as this is the grass that has been put down for the rear lawn. I have had a good growth and it was all through in no time.
Only trouble is that it needs to be mown more now compared with the old lawn. ;)
