Not really sure where this should go. :-\
My husband wants to set up with beekeeping but everything seems so expensive and to get started will cost the equivalent to a lifetimes supply of honey! Does anyone else keep bees who can give us some advice and how or where to buy the equipment to get started as cheaply as possible.
My sister keeps bees and I know that before they started the got in contact with their nearest beekeeping society. And I'm not sure about the equipment, but I'm pretty sure that they got the bees for nothing from somebody in that group.
