.. if so are they living up to Marshalls hype?
Yes i did, of the six seeds three died after about a month, the others limped along until last week when they gave up the ghost.........no melons :'(
6 Seeds, 4 young plants. They took off like a wet firework and died within 2 months.
Not feeling any wonder, the Watermelon's from Lidl's (39p) on the other hand are doing great with 2 large watermelons on.
ok that makes me feel alot better i thought it was something i'd done.
Two plants, loads of growth, no fruit >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
They're certainly not wondrous. Two plants put in a sheltered sunny spot, reasonable growth, zero flowers.
Edit: I gave another two plants to a friend, one was grown under glass the other outside, no fruit on either.
Only two plants survived and there is nothing even approaching a melon on either
I planted three in the greenhouse, 2 in a coldframe and one outside. They all survived, flowered, but no fruit. Marshalls have given me a credit for the seed.
I lost my first sowings, partly my fault, but they were not trying very hard either. Late sown plant is trying to fruit but I think too little too late!
I've got a couple of seeds left which I'll try again next year as the weather/summer here has been poor. Although after reading the other posts it does not sound promising.
Hm... I'll give that one a miss then.... will concentrate on squash and wierd beans next year plus trying to accumulate oddball alliums.... will grow fewer potato types too, probably only PFA and King Eds, maybe half a row of earlies for some salads and maybe half a row of one of the Sarpos to see if blight-proof spuds are for me
