Title: Sowing outside now?
Post by: caroline7758 on September 13, 2009, 13:32:38
Obviously self-sown seeds survive though the winter, so does anyone here sow any flowers outside now ready for next spring?

I'm about to sow some poppies, cornflower, nigella and limnanthes. Experimentally. I haven't done it before, but all the packets say good to go now.

I would just sprinkle the seed of that wherever you want it....once you have it, it will turn up all over the place! ;D

I let poached egg plants grow everywhere, bees and hoverflies love the flowers!

A line under my cordon apples and pears keeps weeds down and helps pollination too..... ;D

I usually think that if they go to seed naturally now, then now should be a good time to sprinkle seed from a packet.

I'd go for it!
