Title: Lawn Problem
Post by: tomatoada on September 08, 2009, 13:52:23
One corner of my lawn has become broad leaf grass.  I asked advice at a Garden Centre and was advised to dig it out and replace with turf or  seed.  He said it would most likely spread to rest of the lawn.  I think it looks unsightly.  I have been growing lawns for 40 years and never heard or seen this?  Any lawn experts out there.

Sounds like you have Yorkshire fog or wall barley.
You should cut down and prepare the soil and sow a bent and fescue mix to bring back the look.

Keep mowing it. Coarse grasses soon die off and leave space for the finer ones.
