Title: Super Cheap Compost Bins!
Post by: kikie on September 06, 2009, 19:10:25
Not sure if anyone is interested as I know most people build their own compost bins but I have been given a website where you can get really cheap compost bins and caddys.

http://www.recyclenow.com/

I will say that in my area wasn't super cheap but my friends area was so she kindly let me get my huge £7 bin sent to her house! They have compost bins in some areas for £3 with £5 P&P though so you cant grumble at that!

If you go on the website and then click on the 'home composting' tab, pop your postcode in and it will then show you whats available in your area! Simples! ;D

Thank you.

As a new gardener just converting my back garden this January, I had been looking at sites selling compost bins, most seem to be from £24 upwards.

Your link took me to Plymouth council and they have a scheme where you can get a discount compost bin voucher (from Original Organics) £12.50 you do however have to collect it from one of two local nurseries.

Thanks again you saved me some £ and a visit to the nursery is ideal :)

My area doesn't appear to offer anything other than advice :(
But thanks for sharing!

I click on  'home composting'. Then what.

I seen no where to enter my post code.

The only buying a bin stuff I can see, is if you live in Scotland, which I dont.  :(

I think most areas are doing their own green recycling now so don't need to subsidise bins (Notice the date on the original post, saddad  ;)) Unless you live in Scotland:

Gloucestershire have them for £12 plus £5 delivery per order (£15 for 330 litre ones.)  I am sure they were cheaper last year.  And I got free caddy thrown in this year they are £4.

Thames water have 330 litre ones for £22 including delivery, they look slightly nicer since they are green rather than black.

Severn Trent £21.50. (330 ltr)
