It's 3 1/2 feet long, straight and thicker than my arm and a very pale green.
My plot neighbour Joe has grown it but doesn't know what variety it is so I said that someone here is bound to know...aren't you!

Just googled "White Squash" and it came up with white Lebanese summer squash or courgette. Don't know myself what it is.
I asked a similar question last year and it seems to be quite complicated to identify squashes - size shape and colour aren't enough apparently. Jeannine's the expert - from memory she asked about leaf size and shape, hairy or not, vine or bush and size, how many sides the stem has.............
I'm growing something that looks a little bit similar but I think the shape is wrong - mine is a White Cushaw squash.
Shirl whatever it is I reckon that it will get plenty of attention at our show on Saturday!
Ceres all a bit mindboggling by the sound of it!
I was going to suggest Lungho Bianco (courgette/squash) but the leaves look too small.
Not to sure what these veggies are but I thought this link may help.

But then again with all the knowledge on here, you lot may see different.
I would say it's an aubergine...... (egg plant)
Do you just have the one or are there more on the way..... qahtan
Qahtan surely it's way too big and long for an aubergine! There's just the one on the plant.
The leaves are wrong too... :-X
We have whoppers over here,,,,,,,,,,,,, qahtan
Qahtan lucky you!
;-)))) ;-))))) ;-))))) qahtan
Look in here,
I would say leaves are same,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,qahtan

Qahtan I looked there earlier. I agree that the leaves are very similar but I think that it's a squash, possibly a curious light green variety Nice Long which turns pink on maturity.
I sit corrected... ;D
If it is a squash , what a summer squash????, what you gonna do with it.???
Bet you sixpence though it's an aubergine. lets see what you find out on saturday......
Where the **** am I going to find sixpence if I am wrong. ;-)))) qahtan
Silver or base metal? :-\
Qahtan Joe has said that after the show he'll cut it up and give a piece to anyone who wants one.
Are you sure it isn't one of those blind, predatory white slugs that appeared in Wales last year grown large and bloated from feasting on its peers? ::)
Grawc if it is it's not ticklish as we measured it this morning and it never stirred! 8)
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Could be faking?? Playing "sleeping lions"?
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
OK I'll get my coat. And my brolly.
Think it might be a Lungo Bianco(Franchi) Just eaten part of one for my tea.
other possibility - vegetable spaghetti squash :-\

omg ceres thats huge :o
I know! It took me by surprise.
;D
Thanks everyone! Whatever it is it was certainly the talking point of today's horticultural society show! Incidently it weighs around 8 1/2 kg.
So what are you going to do with it.
It's a shame really that you cut it seeing as no one really knew what it was. who knows it might have grown some more. qahtan
Qahtan Joe took it home with him. He'll let me know what he does with it, and what it tastes like.
He's got at least two more still growing which are a couple of feet long!
I wonder if Nemasys will productionise that slug as a pest control?
