I noticed ginger was posted under non edible, mine was edible so I have posted my answer here, :-)))))
I grew a piece of ginger from the store in a large bucket of dirt indoors room temperature. watered it when I remembered, not often.
It grew some long grass looking stuff, I was hoping it would flower but it didn't.
when I pulled it up after about 10 months, I had enough to give me 14 ounces of finished crystallized ginger. better than store bought. qahtan
