Title: Heirloom Tomato Seed Saving
Post by: angle shades on August 31, 2009, 10:32:50
:) is it true or did I dream it that Cherokee Purple is a bit naughty and crosses readily with other heirloom toms?

and btw, anyone have any Cherokee Chocolate seeds? ;D thank you / shades x

The wilder ones... like yellow currant and potato leafs are more likely to cross. I wouldn't keep a yellow currant or similar in a greenhouse where I was seed saving.  Not sure about the chocolate..  :(

Well I have one in the big greenhouse... and I'm intending to save the "Pineapple" next to it. Potato leaf ones don't cross readily but keep an eye out for rogues in the next generation...  :)
