Title: Mulch for brassicas.
Post by: grannyjanny on August 31, 2009, 08:28:09
We've got the brassica bed planted & wondered if it would be of any benefit to put a mulch of grass cuttings down?

Dust with some lime if you do, fresh-ish mulch will be acidifying to some extent and would (to a small extent) promote clubroot.... The lime will slow rotting though.....

QuoteDust with some lime

Is this necessary if the soil is limey already?

No, but those of us on acid soils need to...  :)
