Had a sort of plum pavlova tonight made from Victorias that had to picked young to stop the rather small tree collapsing and ripened off in  a box with a banana....

Microwave some plums with a bit of sugar on a medium-low setting until they break down, then high for a couple of minutes, stir, high, stir etc... or do iy in a pan. It wants to be sticky.... Cool a bit, then stir in some sloe gin... good with meringue and icecream/cream as it turned out..... :D

roll out a rectangle of puff pastry and lightly score a rectangle inside. Line the inner rectangle with a thin layer of marzipan. Arrange plums cut in half, cut side down on top of the marzipan, and pop in the oven. Sprinkle with icing sugar.......

I've made about 30 lb of chutney from this recipe - gorgeous!

maybe i've led a sheltered life, but I can't think of anything else to do with it except eat it  :D

We'll get through it no bother. I'm just worried that i'll have to do the same thing with all our green tomatoes  ???
