Post by: Digitalis on August 26, 2009, 15:53:28
-Is it possible to blanch runner beans in the microwave? If so, how?

-How long will the freeze for?

Thanks!

Maybe, don't know, I just cut them up, throw in boiling water for about 3 mins, no salt, as that can be added later if required and then put in a colandar, drain and rinse throughly under running cold water.  When cold put in freezer bags and they are OK.

Do you just freeze them, or eat them.  Thought it was better to blanche.
