in the late autumn i have a tendency to trim any dead leaves off of my pond plants and try to net the pond before the trees drop their leaves but netting with most of the plants still tall and green is a pain.
would it be OK at that time (late autumn) to trim back all the pond plants with tall foliage too just a couple of inches, as they generally stay green all winter would it be doing them harm to remove their foliage in this way ???
BUMP!! :)
It really depends on which plants they are Thif.
mainly irises and reed type plants.
We do just that at the home pond.
Yes Thif you can chop the leaves down by half and it wont affect next years growth :)
lovely, i'll do that this autumn then.
