Title: NEW ALLOTMENTEER!

hi everyone-as a newby to growing veg-and the very first time planting a spud today-was left on my own to get on with it.only to be told after the event that i have planted them all upside down-is there another dope in the world like me?? ???

You can't plant them upside down... if they are sprouting the sprouts stick up... otherwise they find their own way... ?Somebody winding you (or me) up?  :-\

isn't it a bit late to be planting spuds anyway? which ever way up you plant them :)

I'm planting pots for Christmas too, currently chitting, was planning on doing them in a black bin but would they be ok in the ground??

I'm going to do both & fleece the ones in the ground later on. I'll put the ones in pots in the greenhouse later also.

LOL. I can remember being told that way back in March. He had me really worried for about 2 secs as i had been so careful with them. If  they were or not they still tasted lovely when i dug them up. Welcome. It's alovely friendly place this
