Title: Swede - is it too late?
Post by: Lizann on July 30, 2009, 13:41:24
When I sow swede they always come up really quickly.  Anyone any idea if it's too late to sow some more?

The usual sowing time is May/June, but try it as you've nothing to lose by doing so!

They come up quickly because they are brassicas... but I find they need a long season to get to a decent size. Winter Radish germinate quickly (being another brassica) but swell up faster... similar use.  :-\

Mine says end of July, I would get them in quick, as Saddad says they do need a long growing season, mine went to six weeks ago.  ;D ;D ;D
