Can I take them now?
If it was me I would wait till spring, they may root for you now, but its keeping them over winter thats the problem.
Be patient Sinbad........are you still a non smoker.......wrong thread , but are ya??
Thanks Star, I'll have a go now, whilst I can see the colours I like. Spring seems a long, long way away.
Patience what's that??:)
Yep still smoke free, but having a battle with my sweet tooth :'( :'(
August is the best month to take geranium cuttings, we used to do about 300 to sell . We uesd any unflowered growth and put up to 15 cuttings in a 5 inch half pot. Using general purpose compost with a good half inch of grit sand on the top. We trimmed the cuttings as we took them and once in the pot gave a good drink with a rose on the can. Put them on a shelve in the greenhouse and forget them. If you can just keep the worst frost out they will only need checking about once a month and very little water. The drier they are the colder they can be, we potted them up end of March and sold many for Marie Curie in May.
Many thanks for that Laurie. will give it a go.
