Title: Bay leaf bug?
Post by: lewic on July 28, 2009, 19:20:48
Does anyone know what might be eating my bay tree?

A lot of the leaves are curled up and I saw some tiny grey jumping things on the underside of them. The bush is only about a foot high and I dont want to lose it!

A leaf sucker.. a bit like scale insects when bigger... taking off and burning affected leaves and cultivating the soil under the bush and grease bands on the stem can help...  difficult to eradicate with insecticides.. and I wouldn't want to eat any that had been treated with a systemic...  :-\

I've been fighting this one for years

Not a lot of success though....I have managed to keep it at bay!....by picking off the affected leaves.
