Any recommendations. Tempted by either Easiyo or Lakelands electric ones....anyone got personal experience of either?
still asking but see there's another thread, search option wss disabled earlier saying server stressed ;D
Hi Hector
I use the Easiyo system as all you have to do is fill the container with cold water and add the mix, if you wish it to be sweet add sweetener or honey, put the lid on and shake the container fill flask with hot water and leave over night. Hope this helps

I've got the electric one from lakelands. I've had it 6 years and use it lots. I opted for the electric one as you don't need packets, once a month i buy a organic yogurt and use that as a fresh starter. :)
I use a Lakelands electric one, and it works well. The key seems to be a good starter. I have used Onken and Tesco Greek (plus several others!). I freeze teaspoons of it in ice cube trays. About 2 cubes per batch seems to do it.
I used to make it in a wide-necked thermos flask. Seem to remember all you needed to do was warm the milk up, mix in a couple of spoonfulls of bio yogurt and leave it overnight.
EDIT - some instructions here! http://bean-sprouts.blogspot.com/2007/11/how-to-make-greek-yogurt.html
Thats interesting infradig, so the yogurt is still alive after it comes out of the freezer?
Yes. Well, it makes yoghurt! And of course makes the whole thing a lot cheaper.
thanks i tend to buy a new starter once a month but with try that :)
Made some yesterday from scratch...one lot in Freecycle bel electric one and one batch is easiyo....absolutely gorgeous after chilling. Chick and creamy. Thoroughly recommend!!!!!
