well i had my first cauli from lottie this year must say what a experience of complete freshness and taste
well worth the wait ;)
Oh you are lucky.I had poor germination and what did come up sort of disappeared. :)
i have lost three to slug damage but there comming on lost all my romensco to bolting wasnt happy have got another batch sown and on there way think hato do with the hotter weather so second sowing should be better
We had our first on Sunday. Candid Charm. My first year of success, but this is hopefully down to the variety and better soil in a different plot. I harvested it at what I thought a decent size but apparently candid Charm grow to the size of footballs....... best leave the others for now...... willpower
We had 2 but the slugs got half of the one

No and never have
I netted mine, because I thought they were cabbages, what a nice surprise, had three very small cauliflowers but ate them and they tasted good. Got 12 plants for £2 from an allotment friend, who knows what I may yet get. ;D
no never have sorry all i ever do is tie the leaves in to hide the curd
I net all my brassicas as soon as they are planted out, frustrating all the cabbage whites!! This year, I can hardly keep up with ripe cauliflowers. Romanesco and graffiti are leading the charge. This year, I have defeated the voles by trapping them all year. Last year, they ate out the growing hearts of most of my cauliflowers.
We have loads of pigeons and magpies and there is nothing they like more than some nice greens. We have fo xes as well so its safest to wire net everything thats likely to get ruined

I have never used netting of any sorts to cover anything other than strawberries.
