The modern day scart lead is now a HDMI lead. HDMI cables for HD and blu-ray vary in price drastically. So what is the difference between one for £10 and one for £100 ??? ??? I do not recall such a price range in scart cables.
Find a shop that will let you return the ones you dont want, or find a shop that will show you.
Obviously its quality, but can you see/hear the difference? Only you can know.
Just asked OH & he got ours from Amazon market place £14 each. No problems with them.
The primary difference is the brand name on them, a cable with a popular brand name will typically have at least a 300% mark up, an unknown brand will have a negligible mark up.
The more expensive ones may have more shielding but unless you live next door to an electrical substation or a radio transmitter then it is unlikely there will be enough external electrical noise to interfere with the signal on a cheap cable with comparatively little shielding.
You will not be able to see any difference in picture quality or hear any difference in sound quality between different brands of cable.
More expensive audio visual cables tend to have gold at the terminals as it doesn't tarnish and give a poor connection. However, this, in my opinion is stupid as gold is NOT a good electrical conductor ::) The more expensive cables as has been said above may well be better screened and are most likely constructed of individual cables with a higher number of strands which will conduct the signal better.
Unless you'll be running the cable for a long way you're unlikely to notice the difference. The cheapest of the cheap will probably be cheap for a reason. ;)
One will be cited in the divorce case...
For nearly 100% users, there is no difference at all (unless your a geek with testing equipment ;D ).
The quality of the blueray/HD is so high and the tv's are so good that any lose of quality using a £10 cable won't really be noticable.
