While I was staying with my son in his new house in Harpenden last week I couldn't resist visiting Coldharbour Lane allotments. They are in the next road to his and I'm sure he will be putting his name on the waiting list as soon as he has his house sorted out.

It is a really beautiful site but unfortunately there was nobody there when I went, so I couldn't chat boringly about allotments.
Looks lovely! People with more time than I have, clearly!

Something I noticed was that the plots are tiny. My own plots are about 25ft x 140ft each (I have two) but the ones there only look about a quarter of one of mine.
Thats why they look so tidy Betty
I went to look at some in Pudsey, at the weekend, took OH and two forks... ;D
Spent a happy four hours with my friend who has just got a plot...
Squash Perhaps he should get his name down before he gets the house sorted in case there is a long waiting list.

That's a good idea, thanks. He told me today that there is an Open Day soon so he will try to go to that and he could put his name down then.
Could you put the date and Postcode up.... :-\

Sorry, forgot about this......
It is this Sunday, August 26th, I think it's 12 -2 but my son could check if anyone is interested. Son's postcode is AL5 4NB and allotments are in the next road.
Squash64 this coming Sunday is 26th July! Has it been a long week? :)
