Title: rose flowers
Post by: Mrs Soup on July 15, 2009, 20:53:44
here's a weird one.....

My friend has a standard rose, and swears that over the last couple of years the flowers have changed from pink to yellow.

I have no reason to doubt her, why would this be?

A liver problem? ;D
Sometimes a plant virus can cause a color change of sorts.
Or the root stock took over and she is seeing its flowers rather than the graft? that's a guess
Or her lenses need surgery cuz she's seeing things yellowed. Had a friend who thought the whole interior of her house needed painting. After she had her lenses removed everything looked bright white at home!

Thanks for this - I thought it might be the grafting thing, as it's only the flowers which have changed colour.
