Title: Powdery mildew on courgettes
Post by: lewic on July 14, 2009, 20:03:38
A couple of my courgettes have suddenly got what I assume is powdery mildew, some of the underleaves are covered in white powder and there are some dots of it starting on a couple of the upper leaves.

Have cut off the affected leaves but am wondering whether I should get rid of these plants? They are quite crowded (about 2 foot apart) and I think this might be why they succumbed first, as they dont get such good air circulation. They are still producing loads of courgettes.

Or can anyone recommend something organic I can spray on them that wont contaminate the courgettes?

Thanks

Cath

Aha, forgot about the milk theory! Will try that, it makes sense due to the probiotics in it. Thanks

I think you have answered your own query here!

QuoteThey are still producing loads of courgettes.

Then whats the worry? you have done all you can do by cutting off the leaves so enjoy the 'fruits' of your labour!
