hi all,went to go on a website today but it wouldn't let me in saying my computer may be infected with Simbar ,they had a link to a removal tool but i cant use it cos of my settings ?? Any ideas or sites on how to get rid of Simbar ps i can acccess the website using oh puter no probs ,
Grots that message was probably fake and be grateful that you couldn't access the link to the removal tool as that is likely to infect your PC!
It's best to ignore any such messages, and never open any suggested links.
If your PC is running up to date antivirus and antispyware software you should have no problems.
I can only echo what flighty said.
Never follow links like that on a website - keep your systam up to date and ony trust messages from your antivirus software.
I've had messages like that before. There is absolutely no doubt that they can't be anything else but fake... I'm on a Mac!
Agree with what others said, is a fake message.
To avoid getting spyware set up a restricted user account on your PC and only use this while surfing the net.
Without admin rights, most spyware cannot install itself.

I would suggest you don't do this, antispyware .com is associated with phishing scams the software they offer may cause you further problems.

Re the simbar warning have you tried accessing the site from your computer again recently? there is a possibility the kittymania site was temporarily compromised but the problem has siince been resolved.
If you are still getting the same message then there is a possibility your computer may be infected with something which your antivirus software is unable to detect, make sure your antivirus software is up to date. It may also be worth checking for windows updates too as security patches are regularly released.
If your antivirus software & windows is up to date but the problem persists then malwarebytes free antimalware software should detect & remove any infection alternately you could try running an online virus scanner from a reputable company such as trend micros housecall.
