Title: Outdoor tomato problem
Post by: daveyboi on July 12, 2009, 20:47:55
Could any tomato expert give me an opinion on this problem on my outdoor tomatoes.

The leaves are curling a little on the whole plant but all of a sudden I have got this problem on the upper leaves on several plants.

Could you select just one leaf and photograph it in better definition (top and underside)

I will try but these leaves are so small anyway and my camera is not that good for real close up work.

Does it look like this?

When you say the leaves curl, do yo mean like a cigar or like a party blower?

Yes somewhat like that
The leaves being small it is hard to tell if it is exactly like that but they are curling like the edges in the picture. But the edges are more evenly brown where they have curled.

The lower leaves are not affected so far only some near the tops of the plants which are nearly 3 feet tall.

They are growing in containers with two + trusses set now.

Not an expert, but it looks like it might be caused by watering in full sun?

I guess that might be a possibility as we had a heavy rain shower or two on a otherwise hot day.
