Love the taste of tayberry hate the thorns.  Got loads of loganberries this year - thornless.

Yes it is a very good year for soft fruit, the Glen moy rasberries seem to have been bigger than last year and the gooseberries and strawberrties, the wife says, are the best for at least ten years, the Autumn bliss canes are about a foot taller that previous years, the loganberry plant is so heavy with fruit that the ropes holding the vines/canes up have snapped.
Previous years I have netted the tayberries and the blackberry black butte which the blackbirds love, but still picked very little fruit.
this year I was too busy to net the above two, but I have picked far more fruit.
very few confrence pears but a very good crop of concorde pear.

Nice looking bush springs - do you net them?  We had our first tayberry crop this year and it was a good one as well...
