Just had an email that TN34, Hastings, East Sussex, has had a full Smith Period, know that we need several in a row to really start worrying, but just wanted to give a heads up to anyone in this area to start watching out for blight.

Just had our first full Smith of the year. It's within 2 days of the anniversary of the first Smith period in July last year, but that had been preceded by 5 periods in April-June.
Unsurprisingly our best year for tomatoes was 2006 - first Smith period wasn't until August.

Not good news. So far seems ok further along the road from you, but will check it out later.

I suppose you must have similar temperatures which would mean that you have lower humidity down there in park land :)
Yes, that looks like it. The humidity hours aren't showing as long enough. But I suspect that once the blight gets going, that probably isn't going to make a whole lot of difference!
I just had a look at the link ceres, but as I'm not a commercial grower I couldn't fill in the registration, is ther a way I can find out about the warnings in my area - Shoreham by Sea West Sussex. With the manure disaster my spuds and toms and peppers are are among my only hopes - thank you

You don't need to be a 'commercial' grower. Just register using the nearest description.

all these posts about blightwatch and Smith Periods and all, and nobady actually owns up to spraying. Well, i'm convinced and i've sprayed, and when it stops raining, i'll go out and bl00dy spray them all again

What do you spray with?
Bordeaux Mixture or Dithane according to preference.
