hi i have green cadage and red cabage in my veg patch but i getting worried they growing tall but no hearts in them is there somthing wrong

Some cabbages take along time to heart up.  One year I got mine up too soon by mistake and was dissapointed to find they had no centre.  Then  another plot holder told me why.

It sounds as if you have got the varieties wrong.

Did you grow from seed or buy plants?

It may be that you have purple sprouting brocolli or sprouts, or even purple sprouts (I have grown some this year.

Do not give up, just be surprised.

just got our first greyhound, still lots not hearting up, yet  ;D
