I will probably be shoot down in flames, but as I am an OAP, was trying to watch something on late TV tonight, and found nothing remotely funny or entertaining. Watched the start of Jonathan Ross, who I find annoying, and the four poofs and a piano which I don't quite get the point of. I would have thought calling someone a poof is insulting, I am assuming they are 'gay' or perhaps it is just an act. Perhaps I haven't got a sense of humour but if they are gay or not gay I thought a poof was something you sat on. I accept people for what, who they are and would not go around calling people poofs. Maybe I have got it all wrong and have been told that I have an odd sense of humour. Must be getting old cause love 'on the buses' and also 'Are you being served' and liked the humour in that.
Of course you`ll be shot down in flames - anyone who watches Jonathan Ross deserves to be shot down in flames. If everybody switched off when he comes on the Telly even the Beeb would soon find a way to get rid of him, then we`d be shut of him.

That's too good for them and a waste of flames.
I enjoy Jonathan Ross on theradio on a Saturday morning, but do get annoyed by himon his TV shows.Personally I'd like to see more of Four poofs andapiano and since they obviously chose the name themselves I don't think it's a problem.http://www.4poofsandapiano.com/ (http://www.4poofsandapiano.com/)
I have never forgiven Jonathan Ross for spoiling 'They think its all over'. I don't find him remotely funny. I resent the part of the licence fee that is paid to him. I'm OK with the Poofs and a Piano at least they are talented.
And there was me thinking I was in a minority of one. I absolutely dislike J Ross. I think his humour is not funny.
He acts like a child and he is useless at doing the films.
Time he went.
Bill
He offends me too.
I`m not offened by him as I just dont watch his dribble. Years ago his humour would be regarded as something created by a dirty mind
I think that JR has turned into a Charicature(is that spelled right??) of himself. I did used to like him but he has gone just too silly, like a kid who has stopped at about 14. He is failing to get anything out of his guests except the look of shock when he goes too far. He needs a good haircut too. I can't stand the flaming 'Poofs' not because they are gay, just beause they are outdated and their 'gayness' is over the top. I can do with gay but not with the silly 'camp' that goes with some gays i/e. Anthony Cotton on Corrie!!!!
Friday and Saturday evening's TV truly lacks something. I have to go onto Catch up to find something. :(
I quite like Ross and have enjoyed his shows in the past. He doesn't offend me in anyway - I think people these days are too readily offended.
Having said that I don't watch his Friday show at all because it's just got old and stale. His natural home should be commercial TV I think.
I have been watching Michael McIntyre - not sure when it's on as I record it - but he is talented and worth a watch. He doesn't swear either for those worried about that sort of thing and is consistently funny - guests are good too.
I think we only ever watched him once.
Well to shove in the proverbial spanner!
I think Jonathon Ross's radio show brilliant - I think the TV show is rubbish!
I never, now, watch the TV show - normally asleep anyway!
Saturday mornings are not a necessity but entertaining!
I think the humour is a bit old - but for someone like me who is knocking on - on my wavelength and from times gone by!
The "poof" thing also harks back to a different era! Not funny or very entertaining - but of the same era.
Old Bird
johnothan ross is persona nongrata in my book - he is full of his own importance, is disrespectful and cant resist the cheap shot - no class
he is lucky that he still has a job on the beeb
If you like him, watch him !
If not - use your remote and switch channel !
Easy :)

Isn't JR aimed at the 20-30 year old audience, those who like humour with an edge
I don't think its really aimed at the allotmenteer genre who prefer humour with an hedge ;)
Very witty Slug Killer!
O B
;D
The BBC claims to know its audience but it doesn't have a clue. When Frank Skinner did Panorama about the use of profanity in his act and on TV they actually asked the public ( :o ) and found that most people really don't like the levels of profanity and obscenity on the BBC. When they showed the controller of BBC One the evidence she was dumbstruck.
Whatever you think of US TV (does produce a lot of good stuff - look how much we import) they can at least point to the mountains of focus groups, polls and tracking data to show that they are responsive to the public's wishes. The BBC hasn't a clue.
