Post by: trudie on July 01, 2009, 20:30:21

Hi Trudie

If you don't want to use chemicals, why use salt?  That will make the brassicas miserable if not dead.  Do you want to avoid all chemicals - naturally occuring as well as man-made?  If that is the case, then your only option is to pick the caterpillars off each plant by hand.

Enjoy

Salt draws fluid, so best not to use it if you don't want desicated sprouts !

The garlic water spray works to a point, you need to do it regularly especially after a period of heavy rain.
