Hello, as you know I recently got my first allotment, things are going ahead light speed at the mo and should be ready for my first bed to be put in in a couple of weeks (fibgers crossed!)
What should I germinate now at home in posts ready for these beds?
I know Im a bit late for most things so what would you all reccomend to get going now?
Thanks in advance
Chris
Mushrooms should be OK. Although they do better in logs rather than posts but it's worth a try.
Sorry Chris, couldn't resist it.
Late spring cauliflowers
Spring radish
Lettuce
Beetroot
Possibly a late variety of peas
Swede
Spring onions
Marathon calabrese (Harvest Oct/Nov)
Next month you can start with sowing broadbeans for overwinter,
new potatoes in containers. Ready for Xmas.
September you can plant overwintering onion sets, Strawberry plants
