Title: cut and come again bolting
Post by: Hector on June 30, 2009, 12:15:41
My frilly lettuce is putting up a flower head. I thought cut and come again were unlikely to do this? Is it a done deal and pull it out?

No even "salad bowl" will bolt... once they get tall they get bitter, out and replant/resow...  :-\

I find them (the caca salad leaves) very susceptible to bolting if dry.

Even small amounts? Thanks for that. We feed ours dried food but we usually gives them some  greenery. I will be more careful.

Guinea Pigs are fine with romaine/cos type lettuce but iceberg types can give them an upset tum.
