Just been out watering and been approached and 'phoned by several members..
at least half a dozen sheds broken into. Contacting Police but most of the members concerned already resigned to the fact that it will be a waste of time...
:-X
Sorry to hear that saddad. Seems to be par for the course nowadays. It's still worth reporting though, if only so that the crime statistics aren't understated. :(
Think I'll nip down and see if Deb's is OK.... :-X
Saddad when I saw the title of this I thought it was about the media in summer....
Sorry to hear you're having problems with break-ins. And I'm with Ceres on this one, definitely report it, even if nothing major has been stolen. The info is needed for the stats etc. Can you or someone as site rep report it on their behalf?

Oh no!
I'd better get down and have a look...... :-\
It's fine Deb... just been to check
:)
Phew! Thanks....I've just been down to have a look too, quite a few people have had padlocks cut off but nothing taken, seems a few power tools have gone missing from other peoples sheds. :-\
Glad yours is ok Deb, have you been lucky too Saddad........hope so.
I feel for those who's stuff taken.......thieving gits!! >:(
You really must report it and get an incident number the the police can get an idea of whats going on in the community. ( wether or not they do anything is another matter). I cannot believe that this has happened on that lovely site that we visited. So sad. :'(
They've sent a pretend policeman round who has done his best, bless... but we expect to be done again this week. Power tools were the target, I don't keep any out on the plots. ::)
They've sent a pretend policeman round (quote from Saddad) ;D We have those too. To be honest we get more help from them than the real ones.
I know its sounds daft but I've had more help from the pretenders, and has anyone noticed that they always carry a tesco bag with them. ??? Time to set some traps Saddad. ;D ;D ;D
It was ten sheds now the dust has settled... >:(
one of our sites had another load of sheds and chicken runs broken into again last night. the forensic squad took some samples of blood (hopefully human, not chicken)
the plot holders are thinking of setting up vigilante style night patrols, the plod ain't too happy about that!!
we gave them the name and adress of the burglar earlier in the year (don't ask how we found out) and what did they do? f*ck all
(surprise surprise, if they catch them, the crime rate falls, = so does the police budget)
Our neighbouring site was done last night... we share a common fence. Another site at the weekend... >:(
What a shame! (polite version ....) I'd be tempted to check round the car boot sales over the coming weekends :(
School hols. comes to mind.
Parents working - mice will play?
I'm very fortunate, but if I was ever troubled, I have the time & inclination to 'observe & react'. I don't accept vandalism on allotment sites, they are a haven for many but a playground for some.
