Title: Floods
Post by: Robert_Brenchley on June 28, 2009, 16:14:23
I was tied up all day yesterday, but we had a massive thunderstorm. When I got to the site this afternoon, I found the flooding was the worst in at least a decade; I've never seen it so bad. Plots that are normally unaffected are under water.

My plot isn't badly damaged, as it runs off fast. I find winter wet does far more harm. It's the plot where it pools that a lot of harm is done. Mine was like that at one time, before I started shifting soil about. One guy told me this morning that he's giving up unless they can find him a small plot that doesn't flood. His current plot is in a hollow beside the stream which becomes a lake every time.

R/B  I can't believe you had so much rain.   I am on a site 3-4 miles away from you in Kings Norton and we are desperate for it to rain.  Best of luck with the damage.  Let us know how you get on.
