I got excited this morning...it started to rain, good steady rain...but it only lasted 10 mintutes now it is overcast and very humid.
Now my warning...this type of weather is quite dangerous to plants. If your soil is very dry like mine is and it rains a bit and gets very humid the plants open there stomata...as soon as they do this they're using water in the plant and because of the humidity the plant thinks it's getting more but it isn't. This can kill them off quicker than a hot sunny day.
I will go out at once and warn them. Do I just shout don't open your.....

Give them more water?
I have watered twice this week mainly the onions, leeks and sweetcorn but do plants grow continuously or in spurts because today the transformation in my onions and sweetcorn overnight was very noticeable, :)
Most plant growth takes place in the hour or two after dawn and is governed by the climatic conditions prevailing at that time.

Yes...sorry meant to say don't stop watering them just because you're getting wet!
OK so frequent watering is the answer then :)
