Title: Any opinions on Consort Aluminium/Polycarbonate Greenhouses
Post by: Hector on June 22, 2009, 16:06:45
These greenhouses seem very similar to each other...anyone have one/had experience of one...how does this better quality polycarbonate fare compared to glass?

Twin wall PC will probably be warmer in winter than single skin glass. I removed all the glass in mine and replaced it with poly, not for any horticultural reasons, simply because I have a houseful of small children.

And I've not noticed and difference in crop sizes.

Thanks for that. One of my main motivators is the children. They love gardening and are very careful but my daughter has balance problems....so we are looking to minimise risk

Ive had a 6' x 2' poly / ally greenhouse for the second season. It does very well, Apart from the size (my last glasshouse was 10' x 12')I have noticed no difference between glass (which I had a few years ago) and polycarbonate. ;)
